I Drive Lyft 90 Minutes After Work and Make $600 a Month

I drive Lyft after work. Not all night, not weekends. Just 90 minutes or so on weeknights, then I go home and eat dinner like a normal person.

It makes me around $600 a month. Here is the whole system.

The $20 rule

I stop at $20. That is it. About four rides. Some nights it is three, some nights it is five, but the target is always $20 and then I am done.

$20 a day, most days of the month, is $600. When I feel like it I push to $25 and that gets closer to $750. But $20 is the baseline. Low enough that it never feels like a second job.

My actual screen from last night. 4 rides, $19.64, 48 minutes. The system works.

Why after work

After work is the golden window, roughly 5 to 9pm. People are heading home or out for the evening, so demand stays high. I am already off work anyway, so instead of sitting around I spend an hour or two driving and get paid for it.

The part that actually matters

Here is what I learned: not all rides are equal. I only accept a certain kind of ride now, and it completely changed my hourly rate. The rides that look good on paper are usually the ones that secretly eat 40 minutes of your life.

I am not giving away the whole filter here lol. The exact rule, the zone strategy, and the math are all in the guide.

What I drive

I drive a Tesla and charge at work and at home, so my fuel cost is basically zero. That is my edge, not a requirement. The system works fine in a gas car, you just subtract fuel from the math.

Keep it fun

The day this feels like a second job, I will quit. So I cap it at 1 to 2 hours, skip any night I am tired, and play my music between rides. Four rides. Then I go live my life.

I wrote the whole thing up as a proper playbook if you want it: The $20 Shift: $600/Month Driving Lyft After Work. It is $1.99 and you can grab it here: https://howtosave101.gumroad.com/l/kubqq
